From the first time I stopped here I knew this was a perfect spot for an awesome photograph. It had that classic V-shape of the mountains—all I needed was for the clouds, weather, light, and foliage to cooperate. This took many years. I kept making shots, more and more. It was never right. But this day I stopped and it was glorious. The colors in the foliage. Clouds kissing the tops of the mountains. And then the heavens opened up for the touch of blue. Perfect.
Wisp of Autumn Light comes from a familiar pause at Crawford Notch, near Silver Cascades, at the edge of peak fall color.
