Story

‍I'm Daniel Burykin, and I’ve had a camera in my hand since early childhood—somewhere back in the early ’80s. My journey began with black-and-white film, learning to process my own negatives and print my own photos in my dad’s home lab. In those early years, I shot everything, anything that stood in front of my lens. Weddings, portraits, landscapes—you name it. But over time, I lost the passion for being a photographer-for-hire. I wanted more than just capturing moments for others. I wanted to create for myself.

At some point, I stopped calling myself a photographer, if only to avoid the inevitable requests for weddings and family portraits. Instead, I turned inward, focusing on photography as a form of personal expression rather than a service. I sought something beyond the practical. A pursuit of art over craft, vision over commission. This is where I find myself today.
