In Whiteout Shadows, a fierce whiteout engulfs Presque Isle, reducing the world to a stark black-and-white dream where only the faint silhouettes of trees pierce the blinding snow. Stepping from the car, I peered through the viewfinder, snapping a few fleeting frames as the storm raged. Within 30 seconds, two inches of snow clung to the camera’s back, a testament to nature’s relentless fury. This photograph captures the raw, ephemeral beauty of Lake Erie’s shoreline in a Pennsylvania blizzard, where shadows stand as silent sentinels against an unforgiving winter veil.
